With Pir you create lists and/or trees of files and folders. When you start the program you see all settings you can change. The most important are:
* Path
This is the path to the folders you want to list. Click on browse to change folder, click + to add a new path.
* Create
You can create a list, a tree or both.
* Icon
You can select to have a small, large or no icon at all before the filename. The icons will be the same as in Explorer. If you want to use icons in Windows 95/98/ME then you must change the screen resolution to 256 colors. If you don't, the colors might look distorted. If you are running Windows NT/2000/XP you don't need to care about this problem.
In the tabs "List" and "Tree" are several settings. Most are self-explained, but some need some more explanation:
* Limit to ... sub levels.
Use this to limit how deep in the file hierarchy you want to list.
* Text only (no formatting)
Pir set up the tabs and select some text with bold and italic style. If you don't care about this, you can select this to create lists faster.
If you want to create lists easily from Explorer, click on "Associate". Here you can integrate Pir with Explorer. Click on Associate. Then you right click on a folder and pick "Create list with Pir" to create a list.
